Cyprus is a land of dramatic geological diversity, characterized not by vast valleys, but by hundreds of slopes with distinct orientations and soil compositions. Rather than limiting ourselves to a single vineyard surrounding the winery, we have adopted a nomadic approach to viticulture.
We seek out and preserve the islandβs hidden gemsβancient vineyards previously at risk of abandonment. By leasing or acquiring these specific plots long-term, we ensure that every wine we design is born from the terroir that best suits its character.
Our portfolio is rooted in history, utilizing indigenous vines that are up to one hundred years old, situated in the medium and high-altitude regions of Cyprus. To honor this heritage, all cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting are conducted exclusively by hand. We reject standardization. Just as nature evolves through rainfall, temperature, and sunlight, our process adapts to the rhythm of the seasons. We listen to what the land provides, limiting our interventions to ensure that every bottle possesses a natural finesse and a true reflection of that specific yearβs vintage.
Sustainability at 'Anama is a creative act. We aim to honor the land by using every element of the winemaking process to create unique experiences
Vine branches from annual pruning are used to delicately smoke the grapes destined for our Fine Spirits.
Grape skins and stems are returned to the earth as organic fertilizer.
Following the maturation of our wines in fresh barrels, we then use them for aging our sweet wine, followed by our rare spirits, thus ensuring a 'high character' profile for all our fine products.
